The death toll from an airstrike on a prison in Yemen has risen to 87.

According to CIPDH-FD, this was reported by Al-Masirah TV.

The number of injured is 226 people.

On January 21, a coalition led by Saudi Arabia launched airstrikes on a Hussein-led prison in Yemen. According to preliminary reports, 70 people were killed and about 140 were injured.

Rescuers continue to remove victims and bodies from the rubble.

Clashes between government forces and Hussein militias have continued in Yemen since August 2014. The conflict has caused the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. According to the United Nations, more than 24 million Yemenis — about 80% of the country’s population — are in need of humanitarian assistance, and the number of IDPs has exceeded 3 million.
