On March 29, a commemorative ceremony was held on the occasion of the birthday of one of our heroic sons, Nasirov Afgan Ramil oglu, who rose to the peak of martyrdom in the 44-day Patriotic War. Family members, comrades, parents and relatives of other martyrs of the Great Patriotic War, General Major Firdovsi Alakbarov, Head of the CIPDH Finance Department of the UN Partner Committee for the Defense of Human Rights, CIPDH expert Major Mirdamed Azizov, Chief of the Customs Academy, General Major of the Customs Service Gulu Novruzov, employees and students of the Customs Academy, the leadership of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, a group of employees, students, government officials and public representatives attended.
First of all, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sounded at the ceremony, and the memory of the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence. Then a video dedicated to the martyr Afgan Nasirov was shown.
Speaking at the ceremony, the head of the Academy, Major General of the Customs Service Gulu Novruzov said that our martyrs deserve eternal respect, thanked the mother of the martyr for raising a child worthy of our country and asked God to be patient with the family members of the martyr. Speaking about the historic victory of the mighty Azerbaijani Army in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the head of the Academy said that each of us is proud of our heroic sons, such as Afghans. Gulu Novruzov also stressed that the Academy always pays attention to the families of martyrs and veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and will continue to pay attention and care to them.
Then the speakers spoke about the heroism of the martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom and integrity of our lands, the glorious life and path of the martyr Afgan Nasirov.
In the artistic part of the event, students of the Academy recited poems dedicated to the heroes of the Motherland.
After the ceremony, the leadership of the Academy, a group of employees and students together with the mother and relatives of the martyr visited the grave of the martyr in Zabrat settlement of Sabunchu district, laid flowers in front of it, prayed for his soul and paid tribute to his memory.
