Iran’s provocations in recent times have had a negative impact on the establishment of peace in the Caucasus and have caused discontent among Azerbaijanis living there.
By supporting Armenia’s terrorist policy against Azerbaijan, Iran once again proves that it is against the establishment of peace in the Caucasus.
Recent events in Iran show that the current regime is in chaos and its lifespan is short. The ongoing protests and riots show that people are fed up with the methods used by this regime. Iranian society no longer accepts restrictions on rights and freedoms, medieval thought, theocratic rule and inhumane behaviors using the religious factor.
The violation of minority rights in Iran and the inhuman treatment of them is no secret. In particular, there is borderless discrimination against Azerbaijanis, who make up almost half of the country’s population.
The attitude towards the rights and freedoms of Azerbaijanis and Armenians in this country clearly shows that official Tehran is carrying out a hypocritical policy. The Iranian regime, which deprives Azerbaijanis of all their rights, deprives them of the right to study and write in their mother tongue, regards the organization of Azerbaijanis in any form as a threat to itself and uses immediately the tools of repression, while the Armenians all use opportunities in Iran, exploit media in their own language, they study in their language.
We also want to note that Iran has always recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and has repeatedly officially noted it.
We call on Iran to abide by the norms of international law and play a positive role in establishing peace in the Caucasus.
